The Alamo was an integral stronghold during the Texas Revolution and a stepping stone for Texas achieving independence from Mexico. Defended by the likes of Jim Bowie, Davy Crockett, and William B. Travis, the Alamo was a last stand for nearly 200 men against Mexican forces. Their sacrifice turned into a rallying cry which helped push the Texas Revolution across the finish line.
